- Lighty Leaves the University – I can confirm that the 8ft tall lighthouse sponsored by the University of Southampton, has now left the mechanical workshop and has been moved to the lighthouse depot in West Quay. The plan is to continue adding the electronics on-site, although Mark and Pawel are still trying to figure out how to make this work!
- A New Name – Whilst the DHBE group has taken great enjoyment in referring to our lighthouse as ‘LightyMcLighthouse’ this will (perhaps unsurprisingly) not be the official name of the lighthouse. Instead it will be known as the Wellbeing Beacon.
- Painting – Lighty (AKA the Wellbeing Beacon) has now been painted by artist Emily Harper (https://lightthesouth.co.uk/artists/emily-harper/) and she’s done a brilliant job! Here are a few preview photos before the big reveal on 13th July:
