On 26th June the University of Southampton hosted a fun interactive workshop for students from Mt Pleasant Junior School to learn all about science and engineering. The Wellbeing beacon lighthouse was the star of the show, but first it needed to be transported from it’s current home in WestQuay back to the university.
This was no easy task, especially since the size of the lighthouse meant that it couldn’t fit through most doors or arches.

The children took photos with the lighthouse and got to experience engineering-in-action as Nic worked hard on getting the lights to behave as they should.

In the afternoon the children did an amazing job creating their very own lighthouse windmills.

All the children did an amazing job learning how to be lighthouse engineers!
