The Wellbeing beacon has now been successfully installed in WestQuay, ready to be interacted with!

It’s been quite some journey getting this Lighthouse up and running!
On the installation day team arrived just before 6pm, and the first challenges were getting the lighthouse to the upper floor of WestQuay from the hub on the ground floor.

The Wellbeing beacon was the final lighthouse left inside the Light the South Hub – look how empty it looks!
Moving the ligthhouse was no easy task, as it was packed full of electronics and cables that had been carfully configured to ensure everything worked as it should.

Not only did the team have to safely transport the lighthouse, with all the electronics inside, to the upper floor of Westquay, they also had to move the large (and very heavy) plinth that it’s currently resting on.

Luckily the kind people at WestQuay let us use their pallet Jack, which Nic cleverly tied to a flat cart to make it long enough to fit the plinth on.

On reaching the upper levels, the team had to ensure that everything was correctly connected, and then manouvre the beacon upright onto the plinth

Finally the Lighthouse was installed, in the correct position, and working, and the team could stand back and admire their work

But we’re not done yet! There are a few more features planned that we’ll be working on throughout the summer, so make sure you come back in a few weeks and see if you can spot any changes!
